Mokume gane is an ancient Japanese method of metal working. It takes a great amount of artisan skill to produce a piece of jewelry using the mokume technique. Sheets of precious metals are layered together to which heat and pressure are applied to create the marbled aesthetic. The Clay Pot is proud to represent Chris Ploof's gorgeous line mokume gane bands. Our sample ring, shown here, is a 4mm semi-round comfort fit band in Chris's signature maple pattern. The metals are palladium, sterling silver with a hint of 18K yellow gold. Matte/ brushed finish. This ring can be special ordered in different widths with different metal patterns.
