Artist's Biography ~
Barbara Heinrich was born in Heilbronn, Germany and grew up in the vineyards of her family’s winery. As a child she enjoyed collecting pods, snail shells and broken glass to make her own jewelry. She has always had an innate love of jewelry. She graduated to using beads and wire to sell her creations on a piece of velvet on the streets of her hometown. She eventually studied jewelry making before winning a scholarship at RIT in Rochester, New york. Heinrich balances her hard gemotric lines with flowing organic shapes to create stirring pieces that leave its wearers in wonder and thoughtful. When not making jewelry, she enjoys traveling, hiking, swimming and ballroom dancing.
“Creating jewelry is very natural to me”, Heinrich says, “yet it takes a very high concentration of a special kind, an inner listening and seeing. This takes me to a secret garden, a place in consciousness where things of great beauty and grace exist and are absolute realities. My pieces are just as much gifts to me as they are to you. May their uniqueness touch the uniqueness in you”.
