Artist's Biography ~
New Zealand natives Johann and Paul created the inspired Kiwi Gold collection more than twenty years ago. They honed their skills with intense 5-year apprenticeships that tested their techniques and artistic vision. Paul worked in hand engraving and jewelry arts while Johann worked in aircraft engineering. Their styles seem to flow and ebb together in a perfect compliment to their craft. They've always drawn from the inspiration of the South Pacific and its natives, the Maoris. Their work reflects the graceful lines of Maori carvings in wood, bone and even the ancient art of tattooing. You'll notice many of their rings possess that flowing inky quality of a brilliant tattooist.
The Kiwi Gold line is highly sophisticated, refined, and truly unique. Their pieces are meticulously detailed and artfully executed giving it a playful sophistication and serious charm. Paul and Johann continue adding to their designs and skills and incorporate opal, diamonds, precision fabrication and hand engraving to create their highly original style.
