Annie Fensterstock deftly blends ancient goldsmithing techniques with dynamic contemporary design. Although there is something familiar in the old-world mystery of her work, it is highly unique and explosively modern. She employs the use of vibrant stones and metals to create artfully executed work that is both serious and playful. Though many of her pieces are intricately hand woven and encrusted with a dazzling display of colorful gems that lend itself to ancient styles, others are simple hammered pieces that evoke contemporary inspiration.
Annie's most recent collection is influenced by her travels to Asia as she captures the intrigue and sophistication of its culture. “I am continually inspired by the world around me. Through my work, I seek to re-imagine and reinterpret the past, fusing the beauty of the ancient with the vitality and the rhythm of the modern world.” Fensterstock resides in New York City.
