Handmade by Richard Messina in the tradition of the ancient Italian goldsmaiths, this lovely ring is cold forged out of 24k yellow gold. Following the guding prinicpal of "form follows function" Richard creates these ring using only gold, a hammer and an anvil. The metal is never heated and the molecules of the gold are actually compressed making this the only wearable 24kt wedding band we have ever seen.

Artist's Biography ~
Richard Messina was born in Italy in 1955 and has been a metalsmith for over 30 years. He has a reputation for clean, forged work that reflects his philosophy that "Less is More". His pieces are simple and refined yet complex in beauty and inspiration. His jewelry encompasses a serious quality without compromising the fluidity of elegance. The guiding principle of form follows function leads him as he creates a wide array of jewelry. Most recently he has presented a stunning line of intricately hammered wedding bands. Messina continues to create jewelry from his studio in upstate New York.
