This beautifully detailed pendant from Marian Maurer has the symbol associated with Virgo, the Virgin, rendered in an intricate relief carving. It is generally assumed that the symbol originated from the star Spica found in the constellation of Virgo and is indicative of female virginity. The pendant is made in 18k gold, approx. .5"diameter, on a 16"cable chain. (P557) Handcrafted in Brooklyn.
